Shaoyu Li, Ph.D.

Associate Professor
Mathematics and Statistics

Dr. Shaoyu Li joined the faculty of Department of Mathematics and Statistics in 2014. Dr. Li’s main research area is statistical genetics and genomics. Her current research focus is developing statistical and computational methodologies for bulk tissue gene expression deconvolution to quantify the proportion of cellular compositional effects in the total variation of bulk gene expression, and understand cell-type specific transcriptional changes that are associated with human neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Li also collaborates with researchers in public health on experimental design and applications of statistical methods for novel scientific findings in the area.
