Antonio Humberto Hamad Minervino is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Western Pará
(Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará) and Coordinator of the Animal Health Laboratory. He holds a degree in
Veterinary Medicine, a Master’s and a PhD in Veterinary Medicine (VCM/USP), and a postdoctoral fellowship in
Epidemiology Applied to Zoonoses (VPS/USP). His research focuses on the epidemiology of pathogens, ticks and
tick-borne diseases, pathogen discovery, One Health, and Amazonian natural products. He has supervised
Master’s and PhD students, and his work includes more than 150 peer-reviewed papers, five books/chapters,
and one patent deposit. He currently holds a productivity fellowship from CNPq (National Council for Scientific
and Technological Development) and serves as an Editorial Board Member for PLoS One, BMC Veterinary
Research and Animals.
